Head Cold

Waiting for Daddy

Poor Luke has a head cold. He woke up last night and couldn't breath through his nose. We used the bulb suction and got some greenish goop out of his little sinuses. Even after that he still had trouble nursing. Finally he got to sleep at around 4:30. He didn't have a fever, but we decided we'd take him to the doctor just to make sure he was o.k. to travel.

The doctor told us that we can't really give him anything for the cold and that the bulb suction along with saline nasal spray was the best thing for us to do. Luke got a bunch of rest today and he ate very well at dinner. He had mac and cheese with little pieces of ham, corn, carrots, peas and green beans. He also ate some organic apple and strawberry puree. He drank some of his water and had fun spitting the rest out all over his shirt.

We took his temp before his bath and it was around 99.8. I put vapor bath wash in his duck tub tonight and we gave him a little Tylenol before he went to sleep. Hopefully he'll feel better tomorrow.

5 Steps!!

Luke took five steps at Sue's house today!! He was trying to get his hands on a water bottle. Yes, he still loves water bottles. :0) I can't believe he'll be 1 year old in 7 days. Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to see what the next year brings. God sure blessed us with a wonderful gift when he gave us Luke!

A nice Saturday

Luke likes to rummage around in his toy box

Luke was so happy to see Daddy tonight

What a big boy!

Today was so nice. It finally feels like fall and I love it. I just wish that Luke and I could have gone out and enjoyed the beautiful crisp air. I woke up with a sore neck and I didn't feel much like getting out. I can't really turn my head to the left and the pain has made me a little nauseous. Hopefully it will feel better tomorrow. David was at a region clinic/concert all day, so Luke and I had the day to ourselves. When David came home Luke was soooo excited. He kept reaching for David and saying "Dada" while David was washing his hands. Finally, when David held him Luke licked/kissed him on his cheek. It just melts my heart to see that!

Ten Days and Counting!

Daddy teaching me to be energy conscious

Being tickled is fun!

Luke loves his new pajamas.

You can see Luke's sixth tooth if you look really close.

Luke's most recent favorite things in no particular order:

1. Playing with trucks
2. Crawling, Cruising, and sometimes taking 2 or 3 steps all over the place
3. Saying "Dada" when he's happy and "Mama" when he needs something. :0)
4. Giggling/Laughing
5. Eating what Mommy and Daddy are eating
6. Giving hugs
7. Turning on/off the lights
8. Playing with his friends at Grandma Sue's house (he's saying Alayna now!)
9. Zwieback Toast
10. Giving open mouth kisses

Luke's first Fajitas

Last week Luke tried fajitas for the first time. I broke up the chicken and tortillas into bite size pieces. He loved the rice with queso too!

Walking to Mommy and riding on Daddy's shoulders

Taking the first step
Daddy helping me balance
Hooray!!

So much fun on Daddy's shoulders!

Grammy got Luke the SWA blue shirt he's wearing. It's an 18 month size shirt and it barely fit him! I had to go out last night and get Luke pajamas because the 12 month size were just too small. He's a long boy with big feet. I wonder where he gets it from?

More playing in the grass

Pumpkin Palooza

Our sweet little pumpkin!

Luke was awestruck by all of the costumes and games!

We went to the Pumpkin Palooza at our church on Friday night. Luke especially liked the bean bag toss and the basketball bean bag game. I'm really glad he had a hoody on because it was a bit windy. Oh, I forgot to mention the bubble machine; Luke absolutely loved the bubbles!
