Hurricane Luke

I did what? ;0)

Hurricane Luke view #1

All is well, until the next storm hits...

Every once-in-a-while Luke decides that all of his things need to be strewn throughout his room at nap time. Today's mess was especially... ..um messy. David, Luke and I worked at cleaning up, (o.k., maybe it was just David and I, but Luke was forced to watch or help with bringing us said items), for about 30-40 minutes!

Rocket Buzz

Luke's Aunt Sharon got him this super fun Rocket Buzz. Luke loves to shake it and watch it go, and he quickly discovered how to turn it on and off after we showed him the switch on the bottom of the rocket.

Fun at Palm Beach with Jackie and Casey

Luke thoroughly enjoyed the splash pad. He especially liked the sea dragon.

Casey is so silly!

Luke offering to help Casey with her mud creation

Thank goodness we met up with Jackie's friend Julie and her kiddos. Luke and Casey spent a good 10-15 minutes playing with the shovels and buckets. I'll remember Luke's sand toys next time.

Luke looks so much like David in this shot!

On the move!

Picking some pretty pink flowers

For those of you who don't live in the Houston/Galveston area: There is a man-made beach playground, called Palm Beach, at Moody Gardens in Galveston. It's such a fun spot to take kiddos. Jackie invited us to come since she'd already planned to go with Casey. I think we're going to head on back down there a few more times this summer. :0)

Fun with Grauntie and Gruncs

Luke went to the movie theater for the first time on Friday. We saw Toy Story 3. He sat on either David's or my lap the entire time. After the movie, Luke kept commenting on an especially intense scene. He was very animated in his recounting of every event.

Aunt Patti and I found these adorable dinosaur galoshes at Carter's on Saturday. Luke squealed with delight as he splashed in the puddles

After playing in these puddles, we moved on to our backyard. Luke got a nice, long, warm bath afterward.

Fireworks!!!

Grauntie, Luke, and Gruncs outside the Aquarium restaurant in Kemah. We had an amazing lunch to celebrate David's birthday. We love you!

Although I do like the weather better during the winter, summer is definitely my favorite family time of the year. For the last four days we had the pleasure of having my Aunt Patti and Uncle John in town to visit us. Luke adores his Grauntie and Gruncs! We went to the Little Gym together, we went to the movies (Luke's first time), we shopped, we went to the park, and we ate until we were stuffed. It was such a blessed time!

Recent goings on

Luke and I made David an art project for Father's day. It was really fun to create and Luke enjoyed seeing David's reaction when we gave him his gift.

Our first class at the Little Gym

Grilled pizza for our anniversary celebration

We met some friends at Kemah yesterday. Luke LOVED the water spouts.

Swimming, lunch, and a movie

Um, yes, I need a tan.

Luke, pulling himself up out of the water

Beautiful Casey enjoying her swim

Taking a big breath before going under the water together

Enjoying a little "pre-lunch" snack and watching "Toy Story 2"

Casey loves "Woody the Buzz"

Jackie and Casey joined us for a swim at our neighborhood pool, and then we had lunch and watched "Toy Story 2". What a fun morning!

Toy Story bed, and "helping" Mommy

Luke's new "Big Boy" bedding is too cute. He won't sleep under the sheet yet though; he's silly!

Luke running through the Ed White Library instead of helping me in my classroom. BTW Erika Montgomery, (the art teacher at Ed White), painted the murals on that wall last summer. Aren't they gorgeous!
