I put Luke in his swing at around 9:30 am yesterday so I could do the dishes. I noticed that things had become very quiet, and then I found him asleep in his swing. Bless his little heart.

Baby Fluff
O.k., so I'm a little fluffy since Luke's birth. I guess it will come off if I quit eating a bunch of junk food. I'm really trying to eat healthy now, I even got a bunch of fruit to eat instead of refrigerated icing and dump cake. Does anyone feel my pain? So my goal is to be back down to my pre-pregnancy weight by Luke's first birthday. We'll see about that. The thing is that I'm nursing and I'm always, and I mean always, hungry! I'm gonna try the "Body for Life" diet again. Yikes, that means I have to exercise. The most important thing is that David and I are healthy and can goof off with Luke without feeling like we got run over by a truck. Think healthy thoughts... ..ahhhhh!

Wednesday and Thursday happenings
Wednesday was a restful day for our family. Luke and I took a couple naps and played during the day. We went out to eat at Perry's for our 10 year wedding anniversary, and then we watched a little t.v. before bedtime.
Today was daycare day; so David and I got hair cuts and ran a few errands. Luke tried squash for the first time tonight and he took his first bath in the bathtub.

I can't believe how fast Luke is growing! He cut his first tooth today. I was eating a banana and thought he might like a taste; I felt his tiny tooth as I was feeding him banana off my finger. (It's his bottom left tooth and I think his bottom right tooth is next to push through his little gums.) His seven month birthday (and our 10 year anniversary) is Wednesday.. ..where has the time gone?

sleepy
Holy cow, I'm exhausted. David woke up at around 2 am and then I got up and checked on Luke. I guess I woke Luke up when I adjusted his blankets so I had to get him to sleep again. I didn't get to sleep until after 3 am and then Luke wanted to be fed at 5 am. Then there was the daily 7 am wake up alarm, aka Luke talking to himself :0), and I've been up since then. I think I'll go take a nap.

Catch Up
Here are a few pictures from the last few days.
Luke sitting up on his own and playing with his octopus
What a sweet little head!
Yesterday was a little crazy. We had a few things picked up by Houston Charities, and we did a bunch of cleaning around the house. I woke up at 12:59 am and seriously considered writing a blog entry since I hadn't written yesterday. Then I thought "I'm not crazy".
I'm going to do more stuff around the house while Luke is at daycare today. Oh, he's got a new "friend" that's 8wks old at daycare. He's so cute, and very observant; he reminds me of Luke a little. I'm excited to see how they interact with each other during the next few months. Luke will have to show him the ropes.

David is celebrating his first Father's Day today! He is on the schedule at church, so he'll be singing at both services and then we'll go get something to eat. Just one more week until Luke's dedication. Family is coming down from El Paso, TX and Mayhill, NM to participate in the dedication ceremony. I'm very excited! Happy Father's Day!

Teething?
Poor baby Luke is probably teething. He has been cranky all day and is down for a nap now. I haven't been able to put him in his jumperoo or swing because he wants to be held or with me on the floor. His temperature is elevated slightly and I can see what looks like teeth trying to come through when I look at his lower gums. We'll see within the next couple days whether or not I'm correct in my assumption.

Funny Story about Picture Day
O.k., so I waited until the last minute to get Luke ready just in case he decided to poop. Thank goodness I did, because just as soon as I got him out of his jumperoo he pooped up his back and it got EVERYWHERE! It was on his arms, legs, booty, feet, back, hands... ..yuck! Well, as I got him cleaned up, I knocked over a cup of coffee that David had left precariously placed on the couch and sat on it. So now I had to get changed. I was glad that I had planned to leave thirty minutes prior to our appointment time until we got stuck in traffic! It took us 25min. to travel 2-3 miles; and on the way there David said "Oh no, Luke has poop on his foot"! We did a thorough examination of our son before we took him in to get his pictures taken. Oh, did I mention that we had to drive around the parking lot a few times to find a spot. David said "what day is it?" I just laughed and said "It's Friday".
It's picture day!

Bummed
Luke is already enjoying the remotes.
He changed the channel to PBS a couple days ago.
O.k., so I know going to Grandma Sue's is good for Luke. His "school friends" do miss him and love to see him when he's there. I'm just a bit lonely without him around the house. I've got to keep busy so I have a HUGE list of things to do while he's at daycare. I guess I'd better get started.

Our summer is now officially started
I can't believe it, but we're finally off for the summer. I can't wait to take Luke to the beach, the zoo, and many other fun places. David and I have Tuesdays and Thursdays to get stuff done around the house, as Luke goes to Sue's on these days.
Luke is getting huge! I look at his feet and I still remember the itty bitty feet that I saw in the hospital six and a half months ago. He weighs about 18 pounds and is about 28 inches long. David and I are enjoying watching him grow.
Well, I'd better get ready for bed and feed Luke one last time.
Bye for now...
