A Great Day!

Lily is my sweet little girl

Milo is just out of reach, but Luke can climb the couch now...

Daddy loves having Luke on his shoulders

Told you it wouldn't take very long for Luke to get his Kitty! Poor Milo just lays there like a slug; it's his only defense.

Luke had 2 chicken nuggets, 5 tater tots, peas and carrots for dinner.
He had about 8 oz of milk as well. He's a growing boy!

Today was such a beautiful, restful, wonderful day! Luke and I got up and made pancakes (o.k. he watched me make pancakes). Luke ate half a pancake and slurped down about 4 oz of milk. After breakfast he (we) had a really long nap, and then we had leftover Zio's fettuccine alfredo for lunch. Yummy! The afternoon flew by. The only bad part about today was the piercing sinus headache that bugged me for about an hour. Dinner went well. Luke ate his veggies!! We've had a few issues with him spitting out anything resembling a vegetable, so we were super happy as we watched him gobble down the peas and carrots. He really loves his sippy of milk now. He still nurses in the morning and before bed, and he wants to nurse all the time when he's stuffy or not feeling that well (today was one of those days.. ..moo!). I'm not sure how much longer he'll nurse. I think I'll know when he's ready to stop. I won't go much past 18 months.

I'm really not looking forward to next week. It's been nice staying home with Luke these past few days. Even though I've been sick, it's still been nice to spend extra time with my little boy. My job is fun and I thank God everyday that I have a job. I'm just lacking enthusiasm at this moment.

Sick of being sick

Luke and I stayed home today. I have an upper respiratory infection and Luke has a cough and a runny nose. Poor little guy wakes himself up coughing, but at least he's breathing better this week. I'm very thankful that I got in to see a doctor on Wednesday. It seemed like everyone I called was booked. I haven't had to go to a g.p. for years. Crazy huh? Thank God for antibiotics. Hopefully I'll be better this weekend. :0)

Recent Measurements

When Luke went to the doctor on Wednesday he weighed 23 lbs and was 31 3/4 inches long. I can't believe that he going to be 14 months old in 5 days! Wasn't it just yesterday that I was pregnant? He has almost tripled his birth weight and he's added a foot to his length! Sue says he's technically an infant until he's 18 months old, but he's more like a toddler every day.

Do you like the new look?

O.k., so I changed my background. Do you like it? I think it's a little easier to read and the colors are cute. Anyway, happy blogging!

Feeling better

Luke's first bite of mint chocolate chip ice cream; He LOVED it! Must be in his genes!

Doesn't Luke look like a little man?

This is his screaming face

Mmmmm Bruce's!!

Did you text me?

Hello..

Luke getting over his cold virus

Luke is feeling better today. He still has a runny nose and a bit of a cough, but no fever. I was really frustrated when he's fever got up to 103 on Sunday night. The ibuprofen worked like a charm and brought it down within a half hour. Thank God for ibuprofen! I took Luke in to the doctor again on Wednesday afternoon because I wanted to make sure he was doing o.k.; she said that everything looks good. Luke had some fluid in his ears that was bugging him at night, so I'm giving him 1/2 tsp of benadryl before bed to dry him up and help him sleep. I'm glad that he's feeling better (and sleeping better).

Luke loves walking around now! He still crawls when he wants to go fast, but he's walking more and more. Just thinking about him running and climbing on things makes me freak out! I'm going to make a check list of extra baby proofing that needs to be done around the house. Lists tend to make me feel better. :0)

Walking

Luke is feeling better this evening. His fever is still around 100 degrees, but he's walking all over the livingroom.

Casey's Party Pics

We had such a great time at Casey's 1st Birthday party! Thanks Jackie, Andy and Casey!

Tomorrow can wait

I'm so incredibly happy that I've been able to spend the last 2 weeks with my guys! I'm not looking forward to tomorrow. I used to count down the days to my birthday, but seeing as how it's a Monday and it's the day we go back to work I'm not excited about tomorrow. If I could, I would bottle up today live it again. Luke has been such a sweetie pie. We ran in to his friend Alayna at Wal-Mart and all he wanted to do was hug her; it was so sweet! He nursed before I put him down for his nap and I didn't want to get up and put him in his crib. It was one of those moments where you want time to stand still so you can squeeze joy out of each second. Today has been wonderful! Tomorrow can wait...

Hi Kitty!

Luke loves his Kitty!!

BTW; Luke can now say:

No!
Hi Kitty
Boom!
Vrrrrmmmm!
DADA
MAMA
Bye
Hi

We're working on a bunch of other words and phrases, but these are the ones he says without mimicking us.

Granddad came to town!

It got pretty chilly this past weekend when Granddad came to visit.

My Dad came to visit last weekend. It was really fun watching him with Luke! My Dad got Luke a giant art pad, a crayon wheel (I'll take pics of it), and a ta-doodle art station for Christmas. Luke is learning to color the art pad and he loves his ta-doodles. I'll have to put a video up later.

First Haircut

Luke was such a wonderfully patient, sweet, and well.. ..good baby at his first haircut today. He didn't even flinch when Kacie used the clippers on his sideburns and neck. All the excitement made him very sleepy; he took a three hour nap once we got home.
