Introducing: Bella Moon Amelung

Sweet Bella

Luke's little hand petting the new puppy

"Sleeping is what I do best"

Bella is a miniature bull terrier mix. She was born on May 3rd and she weighs 6lbs. 7oz. (at 8 weeks of age.) Erika Montgomery, (the art teacher at my school), owns the mom and she thinks the father is a rat terrier. I named her "Bella Moon" because Erika's daughter, Regan, named the puppy "Moon" and I loved it but I wanted to add something. Since Bella means beautiful, I thought it was perfect.

Luke and the Ladies :0)

Luke and I went to James Avery today and he was a little charmer! First he smiled and talked to the sales lady, then he was very excited about talking with a woman and her daughter, and finally he screamed and laughed with a little girl (24 months). I'm trying to get him to use an "inside voice" but he loves the sound of his voice as it echoes around the room. I guess I can't blame him, echoes are pretty neat.

Luke and his sippy

Luke is throwing more fits recently. The last few days most of his fits have surrounded his sippy cup. He doesn't like to have the top attached. He says "no" and cries when I hand it to him and then sometimes he throws it. Today I finally said calmly "you don't want it, that's fine" and I took a sip and put it on the counter. He said "more" and I gave it to him. His fit stopped and he slurped up his "jiss" (juice). We're letting him drink from "big-boy" cups more often now, but he has to sit down and that just doesn't happen very often. :0) I'm thinking about getting the straw sippy cups. Any thoughts...

First Carousel Ride

First visit to the Zoo

On our way into the zoo!

She actually said that Luke could touch the snake! Maybe next time...

Watching the sea lions with Daddy

Observing Giraffes with Daddy.

Our fist carousel ride! Luke thoroughly enjoyed looking at all of the animals, but we rode the Tiger, and Luke "roared" many times.

New Potty

At Luke's 18 month doctor's visit she told us we might want to get Luke a potty if he's showing interest in the toilet. Luke loves to sit on his potty. He says "poo poo" and runs off to the bathroom. I get his potty ready and place him on the cushy blue seat. After a few seconds he'll ask for "more" and point to the toilet paper, then he'll place the paper in the large toilet and say "bye poo poo" as we flush the toilet. He hasn't had a successful potty session yet, but at least he's got the idea. We don't have a potty training goal for him, we're pretty much just following his lead right now. Any advise is welcome. :0)

Some pics from the last days at school

Luke and Toni (his teacher)

Ed White's Teacher of the year, Pat Jensen. She's moving to Mossman Elementary and I'm going to miss her very much

Kathy and Lisa were so much fun to be around this year. I'll miss their faces too.

Susan and the girls... Love you all!

Our fifth graders got to throw pies, (actually they were plates full of whip cream), at our Principals because they had over a 90% passing rate on the science TAKS.
We're an Exemplary Campus!!
