Luke's room is coming together

I'm so glad that we've had Luke spend his first year in our room, but he's getting to be a big boy and slowly but surely we're going to move him into his own room. David helped me get the room painted today.

Merry Chirstmas!!

I wrapped all of Luke's gifts from Mommy and Daddy in bags with extra tissue paper. He absolutely loved playing in the paper!

Grammy got Luke a Radio Flier Tricycle. We tried it out and he thinks it's pretty cool.

Grauntie Patti's gift to Luke was a rocking horse that makes sounds and moves. At first Luke was a little timid around it, but now he's enjoying his horsey rides.

David has been asking for a flight simulator game for the last few years; I'm so glad I found one he likes!

Me and technology! I love my new camcorder, great choice Honey!!

Christmas Eve 2008

Luke and I went over to the Crawford's for a little while. Luke was so sweet with Andy; Luke kept giving him big hugs and loved sitting on his lap!

Luke walked a few steps at church

One of David's former choir students took this pic of us.

I've always loved the candle-lit a cappella carols at the conclusion of Christmas Eve Services

Luke is ready for bed; Santa is coming to visit tonight!!

Oh Christmas Tree...

Finally it's up; I'm gonna put it up during Thanksgiving break next year. The Santa Hat is a family tradition. ;0)

Luke took his pants off while he was in his play-yard watching Mommy and Daddy decorate the Christmas tree!

Bath time getting more and more fun

So, he's too big for his duck tub; he still has so much fun in it!

Water is so interesting...

...and tasty

I'm gonna get you starfish, you wait and see!

Bubble beards make bath time so much better!

Luke has ALWAYS loved, (and I mean LOVED), his baths. But thanks to some new bath toys, he is enjoying bath time even more.

Does Luke look like Mommy?

I was about 8 1/2 months old in this photo

As Luke gets older I think he looks more and more like me. Although, I still think he definitely resembles his Daddy too. (Had to copy your idea Jackie ;0))

Sweet Little Nativity

Snowmen are too cute in my book! Years ago my Aunt Patti got me this Nativity set and I just love it. Hope it brightens your day too.

Picture with Santa

Look at that smile!

We took Luke to get his picture made with Santa at Baybrook Mall this evening. I learned many things while we waited in line: try to get to the mall before 5pm, bring your own camera to take pictures while you're waiting, remember to bring the stroller along just in case you have to wait an hour and a half for the 30 second photo session, remember to tuck in your kid's shirt and check that his pants aren't half way up his chest next time, have fun and enjoy every moment 'cause these days are priceless.

Luke had such a good time looking at the decorations and flirting with the girls in line around us. We didn't get a photo with Santa last year because he was only a month old, so this was Luke's first experience with Santa. He wasn't a bit afraid. Santa was very kind and the lady who took the picture was patient and did a great job. All in all, it was a wonderful time.

Drinking from a straw and feeding himself

Luke drank from a straw at lunch yesterday. He's gaining more and more independence. He refuses to be fed by Sue at daycare. He much prefers feeding himself (and the floor). What a silly little boy!

ear aches and such

Luke's Christmas Eve outfit last year

He wasn't thrilled about the hat

Our Family on 12/24/07

Well, Luke is still having pain in his little ears. I'm hoping we don't have to put him on another antibiotic. The amoxicillin that he's on hasn't done much to fix the problem. He's still running a low grade fever and rubbing his ears. Plus he's super snotty. It seems like we clean his nose every five minutes.

Then again, it could be that he's cutting his first molars. I can see little white squares that look like molars under the surface of his gums. Poor baby, if it's not one thing it's another! Thank goodness for baby orajel (thanks for reminding me Jackie).

I'm going to try to get our house decked out for the Holidays tomorrow. I'm a procrastinator by nature, but I want Luke to experience the colorful decorations we've accumulated over the years. Maybe next year Luke can help me decorate the house the week of Thanksgiving so he can enjoy the lights longer.

Oh, Luke took his own temperature with the Temporal Thermometer before bed tonight. Add that to his bag of tricks!

Snow in Houston!

It snowed about 3 inches in our neighborhood last night! We took Luke out for a couple minutes so he could experience his first snow flurry. The snowflakes were humongous and absolutely beautiful! Since Luke was diagnosed with an ear infection yesterday we didn't stay out in the cold very long, but he enjoyed every second.

My car door was iced closed this morning, so I had to go get David to open it and to clean off my windshield. The kids at school were so excited. All they wanted to do was go outside. What a treat to have snow in Houston. Although, I am glad we don't have snow everyday; today was a traffic nightmare. :0)
